About Me

the fly girl

My name is Torri.  I have lived in Texas since 1987 with my husband, The Marathon Man, and our four children: Linden ’88, Jessica ’90, Ethan, ’93 and Hannah ’97.  Although Texas has been where I have lived for the past 22 years, I consider Oregon my home.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s and graduated from the University of Oregon in ’84. The Marathon Man and I got married in ’86, had our first baby in ’88 and our last in ’97.  Those 9 years are a foggy memory of diapers, naps, and nursing.

My oldest two are now in college, much to my son’s delight in the decreasing girl to boy ratio in our house.  Even with half as many kids underfoot, my days are spent pretty much the same.  Most days find me making time for my husband (who works crazy hours), texting my daughters, feeding my teenage boy, doing church or school activities, watching my baby girl play soccer and making cookies on Tuesdays.

In my spare time, I find myself daydreaming about fly fishing or being on the Oregon Coast. Both of those activities almost always involve my oldest and dearest friend, Tammy, and her family.

My daughter, Linden, challenged me to start this blog after she began one herself earlier this year.  Here is my attempt to document life as I know it.  However, the words Disciplined and Computer Literate are not words that I would use to describe me.  So, let’s see how this goes, shall we??
